In St Mary's

Briefly visited Nantwich's church after a morning meeting at my Dad's solicitors.

As a schoolboy (and, briefly, a scout) in Nantwich, I attended various services held in this church, one of the most impressive buildings in south Cheshire. In my late teens, I became friends with the Rev Jim Wilkinson (no relative), rector of St Mary's, who was a fellow regular in the Bowling Green pub nearby.

Earlier, I visited my Dad's old house - cold and a little bit damp (the central heating comes on to stop pipes freezing, but condensation on the windows remains). A bit sad.
