My student gave her talk on the second full day of the conference, but her audience was not great - mainly young people working in different areas that she'd befriended. Still, any opportunity to present is valuable experience. She also had her first experience of chairing a session. There were good talks in the afternoon, though. In the evening there was the conference dinner. I sat with Mme A at a table of French researchers and a couple of other partners, so my French got a work-around and I strengthened a couple of established relationships.
