Osprey
A juvenile osprey (maybe) with its back discretely turned as it devours whatever it was carrying in its talons when it flew straight toward us. For once I had the right camera, but I didn't even have a moment to point my camera at it as it flew just over our heads and into a tree. The markings on it's back are quite beautiful.
We found a new trail above Spring Lake this morning which we will definitely explore further. We weren't exactly lost, but we definitely weren't on the nature trail after awhile, so we decided to head back while we still were clear on which way was back.
Now that Ozzie has finally convinced us that he wishes to ride in the back seat of the car, we put him in OilMan's car, since he has only washed it once since he bought it and and the dog hair will blend in nicely with the leaves, dust, ash, old sweet wrappers and parking tickets, golf clubs and grass, and several pairs of shoes. He was perfectly happy to wait in the car for us to have coffee inside at the Trail House which caters to mountain bikers and hikers. The weather has turned very cold and the thought of sitting outside with him was not appealing....
Dana and Jim and the boys are due shortly for our Feste Dei Sette Pesce. I always have visions of Christmas music playing softly in the background while we sit around and converse, but more likely it will be the sounds of football players knocking the c*** out of each other emanating from the television room as I am the only member of the family that doesn't like football....
I wish all you wonderful people out in Blipland a very merry Christmas. It is such a joy to me to have so many friends all over the world.
