Christingle

In addition to our two worship services in church this Sunday morning we also held a Christingle service this afternoon. (There will also be a Watchnight service later tonight.)

During this afternoon's service we made a Christingle (pictured). The orange represents the world, the sweets represent all God's blessings and gifts, the ribbon reminds us that God's love surrounds the world and the candle (or, in our case, a glow-stick) signifies Christ as the Light of the World.

The stick was still glowing when I got home and put the Christingle on the kitchen table - the effect doesn't come out too well in the photo, so you'll just have to take my word for it!
