Wigilia

Most of the family has assembled for Wigilia, Polish Christmas. Well, we’ve assembled for Christmas Eve really but now that we have lovely K in the family we give a nod to her Polish family and have a small gift today. The fish pie is in the oven. The cake is yet to be decorated but as our tradition is a chocolate sponge not a fruit cake this won’t take too long. The fizz is chilling. We’ll toast absent friends. The young and youngest are at a friend’s house along the road for a festive reunion. The dog is sniffing round the waste paper baskets, the cat is sniffing round the remains of the fish. Cameraman is blipping the amazing advent window for tonight. I have my feet up and the candle at the front door is lighting the way.
