Happy Birthday, HD!

We interrupt our usual travel programming to give you this picture of Miszka at my Polish fam's digs. HD has a cat allergy, so it is a risky choice for a birthday card, but all the lights are too low to shoot anything else.

We arrived safely in Warsaw today, with only an hour and a half delay. Peanuts, considering the fact, that it is a day before Christmas Eve, the "big" holiday day in Poland. No snow, unfortunately, but plenty of amazing Polish food.

The extra depicts our uszka -making efforts; uszka ("little ears") are mushroom and onion-filled dumplings eaten with beet borshch during the Christmas Eve meal.
