Christmas Time in Brighton

Dear Diary,

Sometime between Christmas and New Year my family would drive to my aunt and uncle's house in Brighton, Massachusetts.  It was like celebrating Christmas all over again.  Here we all are gathered around the game board.  After a bit of looking on the internet I determined that it is the game Clue, a favorite of mine.  "Colonel Mustard in the library with a candlestick!"  This photograph was taken in 1959.  I even remember that sweater I'm wearing.  It was a lovely soft yellow color and I got it for Christmas, I always got a new sweater for Christmas.

The young boy seated to my left is my cousin Joey.  He and his wife Rhonda came for lunch yesterday.  We still try to get together at Christmas time and reminisce...the ghosts of Christmases past.  Of course it is "Joe" now but I will always think of him as "Joey".

I found a photograph on-line of their house at 196 Fanuiel Street recently.  The new owners have painted it blue (it was always white with black shutters when auntie lived there) but I love the Christmas lights they've put on the porch.  I hope that the new owners have as many wonderful Christmas memories in that house as I had.  Places change but the memories we made in them are still as clear as yesterday.
