...I don't rightly know. It just ain't possible to explain some things, maybe even most things. It's interesting to wonder on them and do some speculation, but the main thing is you have to accept it - take it for what it is, and get on with your getting.

Sandra comes round to get some lamb. She brings chocolate croissants and Bliss by Peter Carey. And she conveys me to West Linton in time for the one o’clock bus.

In Morningside I meet up with the family diaspora and we immerse ourselves in The Last Jedi - which was very long, but only infrequently excruciating. There were some good gags too.

Angus heads off to Glasgow to party while Claire, Megan, and I return home for gluhwein, duck a l’orange, and Blackadder Goes Forth. There’s a box of Thornton’s choccies too.

Claire and I even get around to unpacking our new Emma mattress.
