Who's Chuckie then?
I stopped at the village of Brookfield on my way back from Lochwinnoch today, partly because I'd never been there before but mostly because I thought it might yield a blip.
Sure enough I was taken by the name of this cul de sac - Chuckie Lane.
Perhaps it was named for a young Charles. Or that doll in Child's Play. But when I was growing up in the west of Scotland, chuckies were small stones. We used to play a game where we threw them up and tried to catch as many as possible on the back of our hand. Not too easy.
Bet they don't know that in Chuckie Lane.
