Crying Christmas
Tonight we went to watch a traditional play/procession of Lincoln's Crying Christmas ceremony. It dates back to 1564/1565, when the words were written by a minute-taker in a council meeting in the flyleaf of his minutes book. It is done in traditional costume of Medieval times, by the Lincoln Waites, a local band with Medieval instruments etc.
I love anything involving dressing up, and Medieval times are a particular fascination to me!
I'm rushing this entry as my tea is now cooked and going cold, lol!
