DEER!

Not the best picture on the planet, but it's not everyday that I a) have the right lens and be get close enough to photograph the wild ones. So this is it for today.

Not to say that I had planned this out though. The whole day has been so wet that everything is damp and there's a lot of flooding in the fields. So, I took the bridge camera out on our walk. (I had the day off - so I was going for a walk regardless of the weather). It fits nicely inside the pocket of my waterproof and doesn't have a huge lens that captures all the water either.

On the way back the daughter spotted this guy (he looks like a young stag maybe just going into his second winter). So like the natural deer stalker she is she stopped suddenly, pointed aggressively towards him and shouted at the top of her voice "DEER"! Luckily he didn't run away, but stopped to watch us from the other side of the field for a bit.

Image has been manipulated quite heavily to bring back some feeling of contrast - everything was just an evenly desaturated brownish green colour. He was well hidden in that picture - except for the white mouth and bum of course!
