Lame duck

I thoughted, that once you got given a toy, you could do pretty much what you wanted with it.

But it seems you can't.

I got given this duck, and it made a very satisfactory squacking noise.  And then it didn't.  I only bit it a couple of times.  No matter she said, I'll take it back.  Which she did and got another one.  Woolies are very good like that.

And she did give it to me, and I ripped its foot off, and it didn't squack any more either.  I can't take it back AGAIN she said. 

So she sat down and sewed it up with cotton, and it did squack, but then I lost interest. 

As far as presents go, it's a bit of a lame duck.
