Abbey Church, Waltham Abbey

Our weekend has begun!

Lunch at 12.30...and we went for Turkish, and it was good! Great to see everyone together. Lots of chat and the service allowed for lots of it! Laid back, no hurry style!

The Abbey Church was beautiful at dusk and the very friendly duty man gave lots of interesting information that even the youngest among us appreciated. It was the last of the English Abbeys to be dissolved by Henry V111.

After checking into our hotel, we headed for the leisure club and enjoyed great fun in the pools. Then time to shower and spruce up for pre-dinner drinks and to exchange gifts. Lots of fun and wrapping paper! Dinner was an equally relaxed and happy meal. O took himself off with Mum's phone to play and eventually S couldn't stay awake any longer and fell asleep stretched out across two chairs with her head in my lap.
