Tiny surprises.....
.....the warm weather today, 27C, has helped the tiny flowers of Albuca humilis to open.
They are tiny treasures native to southern Africa, a bulb with one or two tiny leaves kind of like chives. The flower stem is approx. 10 cm with one to three upward facing flowers. I adore the striped petals and lovely yellow tips.
I have to stick labels in the garden to mark their position or I might mistake the leaves for weeds.
On another note whitebait season ends today, the estuary and beach will now be 4WD free, I'm happy about that :)
