Religious and ethnic diversity

Malaysian federal and state governments make much of their confidence in strength through diversity and recognise over a score of native ethnicities. It was a surprise to find that Sabah state has a large Roman Catholic representation in the population. Signs like this are positioned at frequent intervals along all the main roads, indicating the locations of churches.
