Beinn Eunaich in Snow

I was in Oban today and whilst there was a definite thaw underway the Leanach  still had snow on both sides as did the A819 between Inveraray and Loch Awe.

As that road descends to the Loch there are fantastic views to Cruachan and the range of mountains in which it sits.   Beinn Eunaich was particularly spectacular this morning , with the sun catching the white peak whilst wisps of mist floated around.   In the foreground, however,  there was still a hint of the deep red of the dead bracken on the moorland despite the winter shadows.

The mist was also in evidence at Inveraray itself and my extra photo shows the famous bridge in front of the castle, pictured from the town.
