Crepe Myrtle
Not a great picture, I blipped it in a bit of a hurry and was hoping it would be clearer then this but I wanted to share this beautiful tree. This tree is one of the best ways to get a good, fairly drought resistant splash of colour here in N.Tex
It's has tiny crepe paper looking flowers that grow in little clusters - often times people chop these back quite severely so the blooms and leaves are at the top of a group of thin trunks, but this one has been left alone and it looks lovely. The colours, as far as I'v seen are any shade of pink from a pastel pale shade to a deep, fushia pink and also a beautiful deep red, which I would love to get my hands on.
