Interloop - escalator art

Earlier this year, the wooden escalators that had been at Wynyard station since 1931 were removed.  Instead of hitting the rubbish dump the old escalators have been transformed into a piece of public art.  With five tonnes suspended from the ceiling it’s a major piece of engineering as well as an artwork.
