Punting....
....on the Avon, in Christchurch, NZ
Hubby and I spent the morning walking round the CBD while waiting for our little red car to have some work done on it. Hubby couldn't get over the changes, all his landmarks were gone, large open spaces and lots of new buildings. We enjoyed lunch at the boatsheds while watching tourists on punts and kids having some summertime fun in kayaks.

The Bridge of Remembrance
Tiles of Maumahara - Maumahara represents remembering our fallen in battle.
Lest we forget assists us in our remembrance of all the wars New Zealand fought in, and we honour those who never returned home. The design indicate lines of servicemen and women marching forth to war, together with the red 'poppies', symbolising the fields of the fallen. In relation to the patikitiki pattern, this design depicts the soul journeying from home to the spiritual realm. Patikitiki is a pattern used on Whariki mats , originating from the lashing together of framework timbers of houses.
An awesome day.....my eyes not so good after being outside, shame this became a backblip....
