Christmas jumper day

It wasn’t officially planned as such but Clare stunned surprised everyone with her choice of clothing today. That was aligned with Will as a happy coincidence, she has festive socks and everything!

Today was planned as a “Will decorating Grandma’s tree and then we all go to the carols across the road” Day. Until we found out the carols lasted for two whole hours and no one could be bothered to move. But the tree is decorated with not the slightest spot of help from me, the Christmas menus are pretty much finalised and we have started on the Baileys. Jay was disappointed that his church clothes didn’t get their intended outing, it was agreed that Will’s voice has started to go all funny (my baby!!) and I have a fabulous 1974 cookery book if cakes of which you will see plenty next year. Actually now I have no idea where this came from, my mum gave it to me anyway. And in a random moment when we were both upstairs she pointed out my recently collected dad’s ashes. Which was lovely to see but a bit of a surprise due to lack of my mental preparation. Made us laugh though. (Does that sound wrong? It’s not meant to, it was a lovely, funny and still lovely moment. “And there’s your father over there” Not that she said those words)

I think I’ve tied myself up in knots a bit there. In summary: a good day and Christmas is planned.
