Moving Holmes
The last of the Picardy Place statues was being moved today which is a statue of Sherlock Holmes by the former pop-artist, Gerald Laing. The author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was born close by and this statue was erected in the 1990's to commemorate this.
It's only when the statue is laid down for transportation to Nairn where it will be restored that the paw print of the Hound of the Baskervilles becomes visible on the base of the statue. If you look even closer there are some smaller animal prints which apparently belonged to the artists per Jack Russell terrier that wandered across the original clay sculpture before it was cast into bronze.
