A family friend was having trouble with her video recorder. Yes, you did read that right, video recorder! I'd forgotten how rubbish the picture was even when it is working properly. Aren't we lucky these days with catch up, HDD recorders, Chromecast, etc.

I think she's going to get a new HDD recorder.

As an aside the picture above is as a result of very overused worn out tapes and heads that haven't been cleaned ever. I was surprised to find that Maplin in Loughborough still had VHS head cleaners in stock. We gave it a go but I think, sadly, the VHS's days are numbered....
