Special day

Today is a strange day for me it's Matt's 33 rd birthday and Simon's 6th anniversary. As I was away last year in Rio de Janeiro Matt started to make new memories and traditions for his birthday with Jade. My sister Kate came over carrying the beautiful poinsettia plant display. The last 2 days are hard for her as she has her own sad memories.
My friend Alison's husband John was singing with his choir at Rufford Hall so we decided to go. My ex colleague Morag who organised Thursday night is also in the choir. It was lovely and it really made us feel like Christmas but it was bitter cold in there even though there was a roaring fire it didn't give out a lot of heat. We left after they finished their first set and went for a delicious lunch .
Kate left as it started to get foggy and I sat and watched a rubbishy Christmas film, great entertainment whilst I'm looking at blips. My phone went with a video call from my friend Dianne in the USA and she had the wonderful June and Harriet (aged 98 and 90) with her. It was the best surprise today and lovely to talk to them and wish them a happy Christmas in person.
It's a glass of wine and the strictly final now. Am out for lunch with Matt tomorrow.
Thanks for all the lovely comments and stars on snowy Pendle yesterday.
