What am I?

Woke up to a gorgeous, bright, frosty morning so had breakfast and went for a walk.  I kept warm apart from my fingers!  Saw one other person the whole 2 hours I was out.  I took a few photos of this bird but don't know what it is and my books are no help.  It is quite large about Jay size.  Saw a heron but too far away for a good photo.  Extra of a horse, rook, frost and catkins.  Out this evening to a school choir concert, should be good.
