These phone boxes are on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh - you don't see many around these days, but I've noticed a fair few around Edinburgh. The other place I remember seeing lots (certainly more than you'd expect given the number of people living there) was on the Isle of Bute - there seemed to be a red phone box on every corner!
