The road to work (Day 950)
It seemed very dark as I stumbled up the hill with the woofers this morning. They didn't seem to notice and I could hear them galloping around, looking for sleepy rabbits.
Back home I got myself organised and trundled off into the sunrise to see what progress I could make on the bathroom re-fit today. I stopped on the way to take a quick shot of the sunrise, it was too good to resist.
My solution to the problem with the shower tray had failed, so I needed to resort to wood butchery and build a plinth for the shower tray to sit on, which necessitated a trip to town to collect some wood. By the time I got to town it was lashing down with rain, which made strapping the timber on the roof rack quite an unpleasant task.
I got the tray fitted eventually, then made a start on fitting the bath. There is some actual plumbing to do tomorrow, after which the bath should slot in fairly easily.
I arrived home expecting to have the evening at home on my own, but my beautiful wife surprised me by coming home shortly after I had arrived. A change in her shifts has meant that she has the night off tonight. Fantastic news!
