Tiny Christmas Tree

What a strange coincidence:-)  A couple of days ago I mentioned we'd bought our Christmas tree and mistakenly said it was 7" instead of 7', which caused much joking.  Today we received a gift in the post from a dear friend - a miniature Christmas Tree!!

It's slightly more than 7", but not much and is a live tree which can be planted out after Christmas.  It came in a flat pack box and I had great fun putting it together in its pot and adding the accompanying baubles, star topper and mini lights.  What a clever idea and a very original gift.

I iced my cake this morning and added some decorations, so I've put a shot in Extras to let you see the finished article.  I'm rather pleased with the way it looks, but the proof of the pudding .... etc!

It was our turn for heavy snow today and it came down in big soft flakes for a while.  Later it started to melt, but has now turned icy which is not so good for travelling.  Another shot in Extras.

Lights are on the big tree at last, although we discovered we have FIVE sets of lights and I think I've possibly used the wrong ones, but there's no way I'm re-doing it:-)  Must take a load of decorations and lights to the charity shop next year!  The decorations will have to wait until tomorrow, as we are both worn out.
