Ring-tailed Lemurs

Madagascar Day 5

Left the Ecolodge at 6:40am stopping briefly up the road to try and entice out what became the infamous Madagascar Flufftail which we never saw. Long drive again today which was broken up by a lovely walk to see the Ring-tailed Lemurs and so many of them. I made a conscious decision not to over use the camera and just observe them, the babies were funny!

After lunch J took a bush stop rather than use the hole in the ground which was in an enclosed hut right in the sun... need I say any more? So I was on look out to make sure no-one approached her... a few minutes passed and I saw a Ring-tailed lemur come out of the bushes and started to make his/her way towards where J was!

I shouted out "there's a lemur approaching you!", "he's getting closer!"
By this time I had tears rolling down my face in laughter! She had turned round to see the lemur literally sitting beside her watching as she described "her pale backside!"

We continued our drive to Isalo National Park over the ridge in the middle of the island, arriving at Hotel Relais De La Reine, a lovely hotel hidden behind some very large rocks.
