Siloking

Not a very usual sight, in fact it's the only one I have ever seen in action. Belongs to one of the farmers who has his milk cow stables right in the middle of the village but his various silage heaps on the edge of the village. I think he bought it - seemingly used - this year.

It's a self propelled vehicle that doesn't require road licensing but must fulfill all the laws on roadworthiness - brakes, lights etc. It's driven up to the wall of the silage and the rotor blades, here hidden by the blue road shield) scrape at the silage and transfer it in to the bucket where it is mixed up with any other contents one might include. In fact on the left you can see a very small pile of beer draff which he has loaded and is now about to cross the road to the big silage heap as shown in the extras. There one can see the silage being thrown in via a hopper at the top.

Then driven back to the stables, the vehicle drives on to the food "table" and ejects the mixed up feed left and right through the yellow flaps for the cows to eat.
