Galena Forest

It rained all day today, just when I wanted to get outside and try to snap off a few shots of this specimen sparkling in the sun. The best I could do was open the back door and hold it out in the light, while keeping the camera dry in the doorway.

I cannot get enough of pieces like these, with their fine granite clusters and big galena boulders. Actually, I can - I have a box of 60 of them in my study, mostly still unwrapped and waiting to be discovered.
