Stand-off

Another day of sorting. After the heavy rains the hole in the roof revealed itself. And water was bubbling up in the lean-to. I made various clever adaptions.

We've pretty much agreed the go-ahead for new roof works and a complete scrape and fill and point for the stone walls starting in January.

The clay ground has gone from rocj-k hard four weeks ago to a pudding-y mess in places. And the stream that borders Forever Tuscany has turned into a bubbling torrent. The water levels in the Arno are rising.

The Goat's head is the end of a blacksmith pair of fire tongs we have got with the house. The head is a shutter stop.
