Hare's Foot
A day indulging in a Fungi Forray to Chatley Heath near Wisley in Surrey.
The day started well with a quick dive into Wisley itself for lunch (on the patio as it was still reasonsbly warm and sunny), then across the road (well round the large A3/M25 junction roundabout) to Chatley Heath where these beauties were growing next to the car park in a heap of woodland rubbish - I just about managed to miss all the human rubbish (don't people know how to use rubbish bins anymore?)
I then took a slow stroll through the wood to Chatley Heath Semaphore Tower findling other, common fungi on the way - though I am coming to the conclusion that the better the reference book the harder it is to identify them from photos and descriptions, especially if, like me, your knowledge of tree types is somewhat lacking!
