Detail of a Roman Mosaic

Carthage has remained a notorious historical landmark.
Most of the ruins date back to the Romans. On the hill above the Punic port area, they have excavated a Roman Villa. Some of the mosaics are truly remarkable. Hidden under an enclosed area, there are hundreds of mosaics that ar not displayed anywhere and are simply stocked there.
They mostly have geometric designs but some are outstanding. Spraying some water on the mosaic enhanced its colors & composition.
I chose this one because it displays the four universal symbols common to Mankind: a square, a cross, a rosace derived from a circle and a central dot.
