we have put pen to paper

Although writing is much more done via a keyboard and a screen these days, the simple gesture of holding a (reed) pen (or a stylus) to jot down on paper/papyrus (or carve in a wax tablet) is one that still moves me.

I'm using my last extra for this year: three fine brushes practising calligraphy on a heavy sky.
