We were watching a group of people the other day dumping this pile of dirt on a vacant piece of land.
Have wondered what they were doing.

Stopped today and went and read the sign.

It's an art instillation!

It is called 'Salt of the Earth" by Melissa Macleod.
It is to symbolically and materially link the east side of Christchurch to the central city. To do with coastal links. And the  environmental and social challenges faced by these communities for a number of years.

Quite interesting.
Hope it doesn't get vandalised.
