Her treasures

These little handmade cloths for decorating tables or sideboards are just a small part of my mother's collections of household items.
When she is at home by herself, she likes getting them out of their boxes, and she reorganizes them by size, shape or material they are made of.
When I spend the day with her, as I did today,  she tells me that she will throw all her treasures  away because nobody appreciates these things any longer; I always tell her to keep them for her children and grand-children.
It is the same conversation over and over again....
I feel sad.
