A Feast

The garden birds have had such a feast today!!

You would think that a bird would just get the berry in it's mouth and just swallow it but no. You cannot see the motions because they are too quick  and small but on camera I could quite clearly see the berry being rotated round in every direction by it's tongue. Firstly I suppose to get off errant twigs  and then thinking about it, to check it's not swallowing anything dodgy. 

I have a pair of Fieldfares, four Redwings and seven Blackbirds demolishing my pyracantha berries. Result on the gardening!!!!
