The count down to Christmas....
...starts today - the tree is up, the decorations have been placed around the house, and poor Gavin braved the icy weather this morning to clamber about up and down a ladder putting up very tasteful white icicle lights on the house. We have just returned for the service of Nine lessons and Carols at school and with the tune of The First Nowell still ringing in my ears, I feel that it is now officially Christmas!
This morning was cold - wet and cold, just the day to stay indoors - but poor Gavin was out in the rain putting up the lights (which he was meant to do yesterday but then he got stuck into an over an hour long business call to the US and it was dark by the time he finished)
The forecast said it would turn to snow at 1pm. At 12.50pm I said to Gavin that there was no snow and the forecast was wrong - and then as if to prove a point at 12.55pm it started snowing. It snowed for over 2 hours but it did not settle, but it was still exciting to see.
Another cold day tomorrow, and I am due to spend all day in London on our annual camera group outing of visiting various photography exhibitions and taking some photos....
