Trekking - Day 1

Kathmandu - Takeghyang, Helambu. 2600m
51/2 hr. Jeep trip.

We had quite a problem finding a Jeep to drive us from Kathmandu to the start of the Helambu Trek, and ended up having to pay a bit over the odds. Apparently they're in big demand due to the impending Nepali Federal Parliamentary Election. 
There are posters everywhere (see extra), and it makes you wonder how they got so many to such remote places!
Stopped at a good guesthouse - Hotel Yagri Peak, with some electricity, in an interesting little village with it's own Alpine Meadow. (see extra) The local Lamas joined us for dinner :)
Looking forward to walking tomorrow.
