Snow Day!

It was a good decision to head home last night, as the forecast was correct and by 9am this morning sections of the M40 and the M1 were closed, and all the roads from Birmingham to London were showing ‘red’ on Google Maps. Here we’ve just had gale force winds and heavy rain which I guess is what’s causing the snow once it pushes North.

Our journey was ok last night apart from a section of the M25 being closed due to road repairs and we took a diversion through Teddington and past Bushy Park, but we were home by midnight.

The boys were pleased to see us, and have done nothing but sleep this afternoon as they’ve had so much fun with the dog sitter! She said they’d both been really good boys :-)

We’ve not done very much today and were both glad not to be sat in traffic, but I’ve been to Sainsbury’s to do a food shop and currently have lamb shanks in the slow cooker. I’m going to catch up on the ironing whilst also catching up on ‘Celebrity’.

Meanwhile, Rachel and Scott took the girls sledging near The Cat & Fiddle in Buxton. She said they didn’t stay long as the wind was biting, but at least they got to use the sledges we bought yesterday. Obviously this photo wasn’t taken by me, but I asked her to send me some pics - it’s much better than my mountain of ironing I think!

Anyway, I’d better get on. Stay warm and safe those of you who have been blessed with snow - it makes it feel so Christmassy don’t you think?
