The Navigator.

Arrived today in the post.

This is an ex-colleague's first novel, which he had always wanted to write. When he finished work with us he agreed with his wife that he could take the time out to write it, and I'm very pleased to show you that he has. It's an historical novel set on the West Midlands canals in the early 19th century. I'm really looking forward to reading it.

That's two novelists that I now know. The other is my cousin, Bennett R. Coles, who writes a very different style of novel, military science fiction, which are excellent and have received critical acclaim. They're really good too, if Sci-Fi is your thing, which it is mine!
