I ordered a goose for Xmas..... never had one before.  Should make a change. This is a picture I took in one of the shops ..... quite festive I thought.

 In "A Christmas Carol",  Dickins describes the Crachit family eating goose, when Scrooge visits with the Ghost of Christmas Past, but he sends the boy to buy the biggest Turkey he can get at the Poulterer's on Christmas Day.  Xmas Trees and Turkeys, (especially with large families) became popular in the Victorian era.
