A grim day today, as Storm Caroline hit early in the morning and continued all day.  I was meant to do a 50+ mile round trip as a favour for some friends who don't have a car, but my car was rocking so much when I got in that I decided it would be madness to try it.  At least 5 buses went off the road here today - which might not sound a lot, but there are probably less than 30 buses out each day, so it's quite a high percentage.

Birds were getting blown over today, and this brambling was a new visitor.  I haven't seen the blackcap for ten days or more now, so I hope she has joined some other blackcaps, rather than having been eaten.
