Alarming!

Mill Street Water Mill was working today. This bell is attached by the string to a strap held down by grain in the hopper. Should the grain run out, the strap is released and the bell falls onto the toothed wheel which is rotating below. The ringing alerts the miller, who can take the required action. And, as I watched, it did. Oh how can I bear such excitement? Lovely place for blips
