Pierhead Panto

What in this weather?  You must be joking.   Although the inclement weather prevented Bibs from fulfilling Cigs’ request and dressing up in her Santa suit.

The Creel Cottage anemometer only reached 74 mph this morning so I carried on reading my book and sipping my Balblair bin end.  However things are ever so much easier now for ‘storms’ are named.  Why weren’t they named before?  Another massive breakthrough for mankind.

Few of you would have fancied being on the Hamnavoe as she ventured back from Scrabster today.  Bearing in mind Stromness is sheltered from today’s airt of wind; she couldn’t berth at the pierhead, even with the assistance of a tug.  It is reported she even collided with the Pole Star.  She is now at anchor in the Flow.  Passengers remain on board.  I remain on whisky.
