Lovely gift

We decided when this present arrived from Germany that we would keep it until nearer Christmas. When I emailed our thanks to our friends in Frankfurt I told her we were going to be strong willed with it and save it until nearer Christmas. She emailed straight back and said "eat it now!", so we did! We have started having a little slice every day and it is delicious.

The concert in The Albert Hall last night was excellent. It was a mixture of orchestral music, carols and Christmas music, conducted by John Rutter. The finale was "Hark the Herald Angels Sing" with full orchestra, the massive Albert Hall organ and however many thousand audience and it was quite emotional to sing our hearts out, the hymn we know so well.

Busy day today, shopping and cooking for a lunch party tomorrow. Out tonight, helping a colleague to start a new WI. Luckily she is driving as it is about twenty miles away through narrow lanes.

I think I am going to sleep the whole weekend!
