Winter Woodland Walk.

Less than a mile along the estuary from the village centre is one of my favourite woodlands. It is a good size and full of Yew and Hazel. Also with a good variety of ferns. It is owned by the Cumbrian Wildlife Trust.

The remarkable thing about it is that although I go in there 30 or 40 times each year and there are good footpaths, I have never met anyone else.
