The John Wesley Stone

As the plaque says this is where it is believed John Wesley delivered his sermons when he visited Guernsey in 1787.

According to Wikipedia, the eighteenth century British evangelist John Wesley was the first to put the phrase 'agree to disagree' in print.

There is also a local beat combo called the John Wesley Stone.

I also thought that My White Devil from the 1983 Porcupine album by Echo and the Bunnymen contained the lyric "John Wesley was/one of the best there was" , but later research found that it was John Webster the Jacobean dramatist - doh!
