human genome

Human beings have usually 23 pairs of chromosomes. Some bits of which (genes) have been faithfully copied from generation to generation since life began.

They make us who we are. The hand down traits from parents to children: from humanity, to eye colour to a predisposition to alcohol.

Chromosome 1 is the biggest. Chromosome 2 a semi-recent fusion of two different chromosomes found in all the other apes. Number 9 apparently has to do with Border Personality disorder and number 11 has something to do with what sort of temperament we have. There is still much we don't know. But one thing is certain:

DNA is a much more efficient Factory than Andy Warhol's.

PS. This didn't quite turn out the way I imagined it...
