Grainy

The guys came to clean our roof, which had become so mossy it was beginning to look like a roof garden! They thumped and banged about all day, but did a great job.  Through all of this we were picking the bones out of the tapes from our two workshops from last week, tedious stuff.  Then, just as we were getting ready for our afternoon walk, my new lens arrived.  Well, not exactly new, an old manual focus 80 to 200 zoom that was de rigeur in the late 80s and still optically excellent (weighs a ton).  So I mounted it on the camera.  Funny how quickly manual focusing came back to me, but the light was fading fast so I didn't really get a chance to play with it for long.  I had to settle for this slow shutter shot with the camera steadied on a railing.  I was trying to get the building sharp and the car lights blurred, but it has turned out very grainy.  Even on aperture priority, I think that Nikon's algorithms push the ISO when a long lens is attached and it's hard to tell the setting because the EXIF doesn't work too well with non CPU lenses. Anyway, enough of the techy stuff, it felt good to be out walking and nice to have a new toy to play with.
